Pupils were sent on a ‘Recording Journey’, where they were encouraged to explore the mansion and gardens and document their findings using a variety of materials. Focusing on ‘pattern and detail’, they were drawn to the intricate fireplaces, coving, brick work and beautiful array of plants that surround the mansion. Information was recorded using cameras, sketches and rubbings.
Back in the classroom, pupils have created an array of intricate and individual print designs that reflect the character and history of the mansion.
Teacher Lara Windsor - “The Mansion is a hidden gem just waiting to be discovered. The pupils were amazed at its grandeur and excited by all it offered them as Art & Design students.”
