Crowds flock to Valentines Mansion & Gardens

The sun shone on Mother’s Day as an estimated 2000 people visited the first ever Gants Hill Farmers Market at Valentines Mansion on Sunday. Organiser Ian Chisholm said: ‘The market was incredibly busy all day; with almost all the stallholders reporting sell out trade. It was fantastic to see so many families out enjoying the surroundings, talking to the producers and tasting samples. Next month’s market will be even bigger and better as many more local producers will want the opportunity to bring their seasonal produce to this fantastic venue.’

Shoppers also took time out to visit the newly refurbished Valentines Mansion and enjoy the spring gardens. Laura Williams from Valentines Mansion said: ‘We were absolutely delighted with the turnout. Lots of people had expressed an interest in having a Farmers Market here and the support for it was amazing. More than 1200 people came inside to have a look around so it was a wonderfully busy day for all the staff here’.

The next Gants Hill Farmers Market will take place at Valentines Mansion and Gardens on Sunday, 26 April from 11am to 3pm. For more information visit www.essexfarmersmarkets.co.uk or telephone 01277 362414.
