Thread of Life weaves its way through the mansion

Valentines Mansion is about to get a contemporary makeover, courtesy of a specially commissioned series of works by renowned sculptor Al Johnson.

Inspired by her discussions with local residents and community groups, ‘Threads of Life’ features a series of five creations made from fabrics and textiles, placed in each of the mansion’s period furnished rooms.

Each has been specially designed to reflect the modern, diverse community that now lives alongside the recently restored, 300 year-old country house.

‘Thread of Life’ will open at 11am on Sunday 29th March. Admission to Valentines Mansion is free.
