Over 35 people braved the cold, snow and ice on Sunday the 10th January for an almost festive, yet decidedly seasonal winter walk around the beautiful snow filled grounds of Valentines Mansion and Valentines Park. Francis Castro (Senior Nature Conservation Ranger) and Simon Litt (Valentines Park Manager) led the group around the gardens and park sharing interesting snapshots of history, anecdotes and wildlife features found in the park. Many of the walk participants also joined in sharing their knowledge of wildlife and history of the site. Stops were kept short and a brisk pace was set to keep everyone as warm as possible. Those who were starting to feel the cold however were treated to warm drinks and biscuits back at the mansion (courtesy of the mansion staff) when the walk ended, a wonderful end to magical walk.
